Right, I'll try to explain this properly, bear with me. My Lada is running, and performs ok when driving and starts well too.
However, if I am pootling along at 30 - 50 and let a little bit of throttle off, I get a 'cough' or splutter which is really annoying. This is worse the more I have been driving. Also, when the engine is warm, it takes slightly longer to start. If I am stationary and hold the throttle at mid revs it slightly misfires. However if I floor it as I accelerate, all seems well. I'm confused.... I have replaced/ or has been replaced recently... Plugs, Points, (don't know if properly adjusted) Dizzi cap, Leads, Rotor arm, Condenser. All I can think of is, the points were not set properly when they were replaced, or the coil is faulty. It could also be carb or fuel related I guess, but the fault is too consistent.
Bear in mind the car has spent a lot of time standing, someone suggested there may be water in the fuel. Is this possible?
Someone point me in the right direction please?

Re check the points for correct gap and while you are at it make sure there is no excessive play in the distributor spindle. That could be an early indication of dizzy bearing wear and as such could easily affect points gap when the engine is running.
