Damn good engines those XUD's.I used to own a Pug/Citroen Diesel specialists back in the days of the BX and Xantias etc.Easiest engine to rebuild ever!Could do one in situ in under 5 hours.Good for at least 300,000+ miles. Theres an FSO truck that colour with a caravanette grafted on it in Welwyn Garden City.

Pug diesel makes from polonez very reliable work horse. Back in 2004 me & my friends had the trip to rock festival in my friend fathers polonez caro 1.9d. 5 decent size man, 30degrees C, and road across Poland. It wasn't fast, but nothing bad had happened. Even when we filled up the tank on really dodgy fuel station. So, I will not say a bad word on polonez diesel. Petrol one is different case - had one for one month - thats explains everything

I have a pic of this polonez: Fifth door is replaced by fiber glass one - to make it sort of estate. Looks odd but practical.

The red one looks nice, and the white Estate has hints of the Citroen BX Estate around the roof and widows area.So have FSO finished car production now? I heard that Moskvich have.

No, FSO is still producing fair amounts of cars. Now is belong to GM and producing Chevrolet's. Before that, FSO was part of Daewoo and was producing tico, nubira, matiz. With end of this month FSO will end up production of lanos. Factory FSM that use to produce 126p now producing new fiat 500 and new fiat panda. New ford ka will be produced in there as well, i heard. There is Opel factory in Gliwice - build in 90's. So, ther is loads of cars produced in Poland today. But there is no Polish brand car available to buy for common man If U want to buy Polish car that would be Ur only option : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_(car)At least Poland still produce own buses, coaches, trucks, tractors, army vehicles and golf cars.
