And now, something you can describe as SUV (?) - it is TARPAN. First 25 cars named Tarpan came up on the road in 1972. Car was build for individual farmers - to take sac of potato's to market or pesticides from the shop etc. This car through years of production had range of different engines. Few pretty odd - like old petrol soviet M20 which had only 50hp, or 1500 ccm engine from polski fiat 125p (fso) which was to small, to 2500 ccm 3 cylinder 42hp diesel engine from tractor (!). Other engines was petrol S21 used in Nysa and Żuk vans, and 4C90 - great diesel engine. Few pics: One of the first: Trailer dedicated to Tarpan (on picture towed by polonez): Nice collection of Polish classics on one pic - Tarpan, Nysa and Polski Fiat 125p:

And now van Lublin. Factory FSC Lublin (making Żuk), and factory FSD Nysa (making Nysa), in 70s and 80s created new van. picture of Nysa 352 prototype on road from 1980: Unfortunately - 80s was not good time for Polish motorization. Crisis and lack of Soviets approval cause huge delay in starting of production. First series of Lublin van leave factory in 1992. In1997 factory change owner - van is no longer FSC Lublin, now is Deawoo Lublin. After Deawoo bankrupted, van is produced under Intrall brand. Last year Intrall bankrupted as well - and that is finish of Lublin unfortunate history I'm afraid... Deawoo Lublin 2 : Lublin - military police: Lublin 3
